RIC02 What is a raiSE Social Enterprise?

raiSE Social Enterprises are businesses with strategic integration of social impact within their business models. They are committed to the double bottom line of their social mission to create purposeful, measurable impact, while achieving financial sustainability.

The raiSE membership is granted to ACRA-registered businesses that embody the principles of IntentionalityAdditionality, and Proportionality, demonstrating a sustained commitment to creating human-centered social impact and financial viability. No matter where along the Social Enterprise journey you are, raiSE has a membership category that will support you along your journey.

The raiSE membership Categories:

Verified Leading Social Enterprise

For Social Enterprises that have held Leading Social Enterprise status for at least a year and have opted for impact verification, ensuring accountability and transparency in their reported data.

Leading Social Enterprise
For Social Enterprises that have demonstrated all three principles of Intentionality, Additionality, and Proportionality and meet the following criteria: Sustained social impact integration into their business model for at least one year. Demonstrated business sustainability through trading revenue. A minimum of 20% Proportionality of impact to business measures (based on the raiSE Social Impact Framework).

Emerging Social Enterprise
For Social Enterprises that have demonstrated Additionality through a sustainable business model, maintained sustained social impact for at least three months, and shown early business traction.

raiSE Impact Community
For aspiring Social Enterprises that have demonstrated Intentionality and are working towards embedding social impact at the core of their business models.

Creating accessible job opportunities for beneficiaries to earn an income. This fosters equity and diversity in Singapore’s workforce while upholding fair wages, supportive work environments, and potential for career growth.

Inclusive products and services for beneficiaries

Increasing accessibility to products or services for beneficiaries through customisation to existing products or services, or providing subsidies to meet the needs of underserved communities.

Capacity-building products and services for social organisations

Enabling social organisations to focus on servicing their beneficiaries by providing tools, training, and resources to enhance efficiency.
